But One Direction hunk Zayn Malik and his fiancée Perrie Edwards proved their love is as strong as ever by reuniting for a fun-filled fancy dress bash on New Year's Eve.

The showbiz sweethearts, who got engaged 16 months ago, were perfectly in character as they struck a pose as Tim Burton character Edward Scissorhands and Egyptian queen Cleopatra.

Wearing an Edward-inspired wig, Zayn even had the signature wisps of hair over his face as he went to the party in full leather and holding scary-looking scissors.

And Perrie was also sharing close-up snaps of her with fans, clearly obsessed with her new look.

They should try getting all extravagant with fancy dress more often if they don’t want to be recognised all the time – we’d never have guessed that was Zayn under that get-up.
