Zayn Malik Makes First Public Appearance: Singer Debuts Shaved Head,nose piercing

Oh dear. When a guy needs a change, he really needs a change.

Zayn Malik made his first public appearance since leaving One Direction. The solo singer stepped out with his mom at the 2015 Asian Awards in London on Friday, according to E! News. The news site reminded fans that it’s Zayn’s first appearance since quitting the successful boy band. Instead of bringing his fiancée, Perrie Edwards, as his date, he brought his mother instead. It looks like Zayn is trying hard to win over his fans — and it seems to be working.

Zayn Malik broke his silence Friday night -- come to think about it we haven't heard him speak before -- and he heaped praise on his former band, One Direction.

Zayn accepted a trophy at the Asian Awards in London.  The award was for Outstanding Achievement in Music.  Interesting, because it's the only award Zayn can accept independent of the band.  He's getting it because of his Pakistani heritage.

It sounds like there's no beef with the boys.

Zayn's speech seems heartfelt ... it's actually kinda sweet.

Clearly there’s no bad blood between Zayn and the boys, and we love that he’s remembering his friends fondly before kicking off the next chapter of his career.
